A Minor explosion in a public car park - Colombo

An explosion occurred at Malwatte Road-Main Street in the Pettah a while ago. SSP Premalal Ranagala of the Pettah police said six vehicles were damaged in the explosion while the National Hospital says two persons were brought for treatment of injuries. police request people not to rush towards the scene to enable further investigations.

Veteran Actor Joe Abeywickrama passed away at the age of 78 a short while ago. According to his family, he died upon being admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital after sustaining an injury during his exercises. The actor had fallen while doing his exercises and had been rushed to the Kalubowila Hospital but died upon arrival.
