Court issues enjoining order against chocolates

Court on Monday issued an enjoining order against Edna Chocolates against the manufacture and distribution of some of its brands of chocolates over a complaint of suspicion that it contained traces of melamine.
Another popular brand of biscuits were withdrawn in the Swiss markets after authorities there had said they found traces of Melamine in the biscuits from Sri Lanka.
But the Consumer Affairs Authority of Sri Lanka says there is no truth to such claims over the biscuits in Switzerland.
These fears are in the aftermath of hundreds of toddlers either dying or falling ill after consuming milk foods in China and health authorities clamping down hard on testing food stuff containing milk.
