Special reductions at Lak Sathosa for festive season


The Cooperative Wholesale Establishment (CWE) outlets island-wide will be selling essential goods at special rates this festive season, says its chairman Nalin Fernando.
The Lak Sathosa outlets are to sell the following at special prices: A kg of Red raw rice will be reduced from of Rs. 62 to Rs. 57, a kg of White raw rice from Rs. 65 to Rs. 58, a kg of dry chili from Rs. 230 to Rs. 190, a kg of Thai sprats from Rs. 310 to Rs. 285, a kg of Basmati rice from Rs. 145 to Rs. 130, a kg of Red Dhal from Rs. 220 to Rs. 190 and a kg of Yellow peas will be reduced from Rs. 180 to Rs. 144.Meanwhile some reputed brands of items will be sold at very special rates at the outlets, said Mr. Fernando.

NISHANTHA MUTHUHETTIGAMA ARRESTED

Nishantha Muthuhettigama has been arrested by a special police team in Yakkalamulla, Galle moments ago, Senior DIG Southern Province Kingsley Ekanayaka told Ada Derana. Ekanayaka told Ada Derana earlier that a special police team was deployed to arrest SPC member Nishantha Muthuhettigama over an arrest warrant. The arrest warrant is regarding the incident where he allegedly threatened the Galle District Secretary.
