The Supreme Court today (April 29) postponed the hearing of the petition filed challenging the proposed Employees’ Pension Benefit Fund bill targeted at private sector and migrant workers.
The petition, filed by a bank employee named E.A. Vithana, states that the proposed pension scheme will adversely affect private sector workers.
When the petition was taken up today it was found that an affidavit has not been submitted to the Speaker of Parliament, therefore the petitioner was informed by the Supreme Court to do so.
The petition is scheduled to be taken up on May 02 again.
